Thoughts from around the NFL

Philip Thompson:

  1. Last weeks Panthers loss can not be blamed on Jake Delhomme. He threw for over 300 yards and the only pick came on 4th down when he had to throw it. Right now the Panthers inability to stop the run is their most glaring weakness.
  2. Huge win for the Ravens last weekend in San Diego. The Chargers have to win games like that to keep them from playing cold weather games in January
  3. Would any think Tony Romo was one of the best Qb’s in the league if he did not play the Cowboys or claim Jessica Simpson as an ex-girlfriend?
  4. I am amazed that defenses still can not stop the ‘wildcat’. He is a hint; Ronnie Brown is not going to beat you throwing the football. When he lines up in the shot gun, move everyone into the box and key on him and Ricky Williams
  5. What a surprise the Bengals have been. They are one fluke play away from being 2-0. After watching Hard Knocks I thought they were destined to be in the bottom of the league
  6. Top 5 teams (in order)- Giants, Ravens, Saints, Jets, Vikings
  7. Bottom 5- Rams, Chiefs, Browns, Buccaneers, Raiders
