UNC Tar Heels vs. ECU Pirates

Lawrence Jordan: Why UNC will win...
  • ECU's secondary woes. Look for UNC's inexperienced WR's to get some good looks tomorrow afternoon. WVU's inexperienced QB had a career day last weekend in WV.
  • ECU offensive production. Watch for the UNC DL to control the line of scrimmage - WVU held ECU to 62 yards rushing. When the offense goes to the air, watch for the ball-hawking UNC secondary to force a few turnovers.
  • ECU's second half struggles. The Pirates have only scored 2 points after half time this season. Watch for UNC to stymie an early push and then control the second half of the game.
  • UNC has never lost a home game to ECU (8-2-1 overall).
Final Score:
North Carolina 21
East Carolina 10

Philip Thompson: Why UNC will lose...
  • Their offense looked pathetic last weekend against UCONN. If they are sitting on zero points again entering the 4th quarter, they are in trouble.
  • They are playing against kids that could not get into UNC or NCSU. The Pirate kids have that extra bit of motivation after being denied access to the ACC
  • This is ECU’s SuperBowl. They would much rather leave Chapel Hill with a victory than win whatever conference they play in.
  • This is the only time all season I pull for ECU

Final Score:
East Carolina 23
North Carolina 17
